Life Update – Another Baby Break!

Hello again everyone!

It’s been such a long time hasn’t it and in case you were wondering, no I haven’t abandoned this space of mine.

I was suppose to update you all with news of my pregnancy and I already have said entry drafted up sitting in my folders waiting for some pictures to accompany it before I published it but who knew that the little one in me would be so impatient to see the world that he was delivered 10 days before his estimated delivery date!

And yes, it’s a little baby boy this time around!

I’ve always called my first baby girl Baby K because I wasn’t sure about revealing her name online and all, but… since there are 2 Baby Ks now, it’s about time I told you all.

Here’s Baby Keagan!

And another with my baby girl, Khloe (:

Don’t mind Keagan in pink… hand-me-downs from Khloe’s time since he’ll be home for the first month anyway. Heh.

Anyway my point being that I’ve slacked off blogging a bit because a couple of factors picked up in my life towards the end of the pregnancy. I got busy with work, prepping stuff and just meeting a bunch of people before I popped that my blog did go a little (okay fine not a little – very) neglected.

Worst of all it’s going to face a little more neglect as I, once again, adjust towards the needs of a newborn.

Much like with my first kid I am officially going on a little hiatus from this space in the mean time.

I can’t promise how long I will be away, given compared to the first baby break I had I’m handling 2 little kiddos this time around. So when the baby is settled, the toddler would need my attention thus… we’ll see how this goes but I’m hoping to be back on here at least a little next year? If not January then February.

Either ways, so stay tuned for that! This little space isn’t going to get abandoned.

Meanwhile, for quicker updates you can always follow me over at my instagram! It’s a little slower in postings these days but it’s still the fastest way to find me!

Thank you all so so much for always being around and being supportive, I’ve noticed readers checking back even in the period of my absence and I really appreciate that. It’s so heartening to know.

Thank you for sticking around and for understanding my current priorities. I will see you guys again, maybe sooner than you think! (:

Dropping In To Say “Hello” & Some Random Rambling Thoughts

Yes, hello you guys!

I know I’m still posting relatively regularly, of course not as frequent as before but enough for you to know I’m still alive (ha). However, because time is packed these days I haven’t been able to plan and craft up impromptu entries and my agenda is always to get brand mentions up so I do sense that my blog has definitely become sponsored features after sponsored features.

Though a quick disclaimer, sponsored meaning I get the product to try but I receive no moolah at all. I aim to keep my blog a hobby with no obligations to brands so I don’t accept paid deals cause… you know, that comes with obligations. Usually.

So anyway, while I mentioned I have no obligations to brands often times I still am excited to try out products they have sent and share my opinions on here in hopes that my thoughts are helpful and informative for those considering a purchase. That said, I still don’t manage to get around to featuring everything that I get and I’ll admit I do have some biaseness for certain products or gravitate towards certain brands but slowly and surely most things will have their place on this site.

Not everything I get, but most things…

I know a constant stream of sponsored posts are becoming quite a norm that no one really points it out or cares anymore but I figured I would like to address it anyway – that regardless of content, everything here is still largely me and my honest opinions. I wish I did have a little more time to construct candid, fun and slightly more random beauty-related posts cause I do miss that myself but bear with me for now while I clear out my backlogs and mentions and have zilch time / brain power for that for now.

Moving on a little to just random life stuff…

Where work is concerned, all’s good. Of course New Job is as busy and bustling as I had imagined but not scarily so. It saps my time and mind enough to take me away from my blog for the most part but you guys still catch me on here now and then so… I guess it means it hasn’t completely taken over my life.

That’s good, right?

Ha, well okay… anyway this entry is random and I just wanted to drop in and ramble a little because I feel like I haven’t had the time or capacity to do that amidst the small little pockets of time I get – and when I get those pockets I’m always scurrying about thinking what I can quickly shoot or edit, or write / review.

So yes. I’m really glad to just sit down and word-vomit. So to speak.

I was just done with a major life update (at that point) which was New Job and thinking about it I kinda overhyped it up a bit with my worry and apprehension towards it because I’m facing another Life Update situation but I’ll get to that again shortly.

All in due time ;)

Meanwhile, thank you again to everyone for sticking by me and reading this wordy ramble about absolutely nothing at all. Heh!

I’ll see you all as soon as I can! In the mean time, you can always catch me over on Instagram!

Thanks for reading! ♥

Happy Lunar New Year Y’All! Plus My Very Simple CNY Nails…

Well… I’ll admit that throwing in my nails here is my attempt at giving this entry a little more content than the usual “HEY GUYS, IT’S CNY~ HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!” shoutout entry.

I mean I could really just do that since I’m pressed for time anyway (noticed my rushed typing tone? No? Okay…) but yes, really though, a very very Happy Chinese / Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates it and for those who don’t, this year’s holiday falls on a pretty good break so have fun, go abroad or just chill at home since most shops outside are closed anyway, heh!

It’s the year of the sheep this year and time to tell myself that I have moved past the 24 years old / 2nd cycle of my horoscope mark and am moving into my mid-twenties. Gasp!

I know it’s still a rather young age but the continually growing number is starting to scare me. Like… time really really flies. Wow.

For all you know I could be looking back at this post in 2030 and feel like it was only yesterday that I typed this up. Eeps.

So anyway, about my nails…

I had a grand scheme in mind to do some nail wraps, perhaps, or throw on a little fancy manicure with different colors and perhaps some intricate patterns by busting into that Sephora Nail Art Kit I’ve gotten from their holiday releases last year but alas, time was not on my side so here’s my incredibly plain (in comparison to all the bling most people have) nail combo going on right now.

I wanted to paint all one shade (that 3CE VL04 shade) – thank you for this beautiful shade Eliza! – but I randomly dug out this lovely NARS red, the color I had on just before this, and couldn’t resist popping it on again. Even if its just an accent nail.

At least in this way if anyone is going to ask where’s my red for Chinese New Year I can point to my nails, right? Heh!

Purple Divider

And that’s that!

Super quick entry, which still isn’t as quick as I would like.

I hope everyone has a blast this Chinese New Year be it feasting or catching up with old time relatives / friends! I feel Chinese New Year is quite a tiring celebration but it’s lively nonetheless so no matter how much beef I have with it, a tiny part of me still looks forward to it.

Wrapping it up, my space will take a little break over the 3 days of CNY but I’ll have more posts coming back at’cha once Sunday comes around and more next week, definitely!

It’s like my very last burst of posts I have planned before New Job so… yeah. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some up after those but we’ll see.. All I’m saying is, thereafter, no promises. Heh!

In the meanwhile, have you read about my Clear SK Cellulite Buster Treatment and V Face Shaper treatment from yesterday? I’ve got 20 sessions (per treatment) to giveaway so go check those entries out!

Thanks for reading again you guys! <3

The Icky Skin Moment…

Another post about absolutely nothing. No, really.

I should get into the swing of things now but I hate to say it, I think the laze of the Holiday period hasn’t quite shaken off me, even at work. Even though I’m dishing out emails and setting up files for print and web etc (I design at work), I still feel this lull about me, like I’m dragging my feet about through the day and all – how annoying.

I wish there was a pill to take to shake off the procrastination and sluggishness and to just get the brain into the full swing of things! Yeah, caffeine hasn’t been able to thus far either.

But anyhoo, this post is about my ailing skin condition right now and I have no darned idea why. My skin is failing on me and frankly, it isn’t that bad. It’s just a couple of spots popping up (like freaking all over…) but thankfully they aren’t scabby or have burst into a hot itchy mess on my skin etc.

They’re just bumpy and a little irritated, some itch when I perspire. Ugh, it’s all just so gross and throwing me off putting makeup on. I mean, I don’t know how I used to do it cause I know my skin used to be less than perfect, bumpy and all but I threw on makeup (crazy thick foundation too, eugh) as per normal.

These few days I’ve been going easy with sunblock and tinted moisturizer. I try to dress my lids up and keep the cheeks and lips natural cause I don’t want to draw attention to my skin and all.

Long story short, I want to do looks for you but I’m just feeling too icky about it. I have some that I had snapped before my sudden skin eruption (that happened over this weekend) so I’ll still post those up in the meanwhile and hope my skin gets better by then!

I think this outbreak is likely due to hormones getting out of hand because I’m not using anything new nor have I eaten anything random enough to cause allergies – and yes hormones but no not pregnant, I checked (tmi, but incase anyone asked).

So yes, I hope it’s my skin purging the bad of 2014 and welcoming 2015 with a new skin or something. Super lame, I know but that’s optimism, right? Heh!

Incase you’re wondering, no pictures obviously because zits aren’t pretty things to show but really, it isn’t that bad either.

Tell me, does anyone have tips on soothing irritated and bumpy skin? To rid the itch or to maybe help dry the spots up? I’m using Ettusais’s spot treatment now but these buggers are tenacious! Which means it’s hormones right?

But it doesn’t stop them from being so annoying :(

On a happier note, I solved one problem and that being the red eye syndrome you’ve seen on the blog (in LOTDs especially). I dropped by the clinic and am referred to see a specialist but until then I’ve got these amazing eye drops that get rid of redness in a *snap*.

Random ramble aside, I promise more beauty entries soon, here’s a preview of my first 2015 ‘launch / goodies’ post to come!

Okie dokes, I’m gonna go restart my brain for the umpteenth time and hope it’s on the right track this time!

Thanks for reading!

HAPPY 2015! – New Year, New Path!

Hello hello!

Happy New Year everybodyyyyy~

I hope that everyone had a smashing 2014 that was both memorable and filled with wonder! Here’s wishing everyone a great 2015 ahead where you never stop laughing at the small joys of life, never stop being inspired by the wonders life has to give and may we all show some compassion in this already cold and cruel world.

Onward to 2015!

So now, the serious stuff.

I could have saved the rambles and lumped my Happy 2015 greetings together with the 2014 round up but I wanted to address 2 different train of thoughts – 2014 being the reflective one where I give thanks and 2015 being the one I give you the low down of future plans and what to expect (or rather, not expect) from this space.

It almost feels a little sad saying that *cue tear drop emoji*

So anyway, in this entry I want to explain something I had hinted at within my last few year-end posts (quite annoyingly, might I add)… well, I didn’t tell a lot of people around me then but I think it’s quite safe to say now.

With this new year, I’m going to be embarking on a new direction and a new path. Simply said, a new job.

It’s completely daunting, it really is, but extremely exciting at the same time. I’ve got a place and I’ve got the time (or rather date) to start and it’s not till after Chinese New Year (formally, at least) and… yeah I have to say I’m looking forward to it but yet not quite at the same time.

The apprehension is only because this new space, I know, will demand a lot more time and energy from me. It even requires out of town trips (hence I mentioned in my round up that Urban Decay’s On the Run is going to get a lot of love from me) fairly often so I know without a doubt that I’ll have to sacrifice something and that is the amount of time spent on my blog.

I love blogging and I love rambling about makeup, you guys know that, but ultimately it is a hobby and based on priority at least, time should be better spent on my career, family etc before I indulge myself in my interests. That said, I know I’ll still be reading blogs and keeping in the know with beauty because that much I can still do. I think.

I’ll still be wearing makeup every single day, talking about it to my beauty pals and hopefully still sharing more instant and quick beauty mentions or obsessions on instagram but where blogging is concerned – with the time required to shoot photos, edit them and then write up paragraphs to go with – that would prove a little tricky and time consuming and I’m not sure if I can afford that.

I really don’t know how things are going to work out once I start but if anything I’m thinking of the worst case scenario where I will be buried by work and be absent from this space for awhile but… that may not be entirely the case so, we’ll see once I start!

In the meanwhile, I’m trying to get as many entries as I can up, perhaps do some stash-shopping entries and feature looks from items that I have forgotten about since we haven’t quite kicked into full gear of new releases and begun the influx of Spring 2015 products just yet.

Truthfully, I still hope to be around as much as I can but I’m certain that I’ll have no choice but to disappear for the start of my new career switch. You know how it’s like with new places and the demands it has.

Grey Divider

So, I just wanted to share that life update with you guys, as with every step of my life that I have shared so far.

You all, and this space, is still very much a part of me and I can’t imagine being without it. It’s just that in various points of your life you’ve got to focus on different things and perhaps this is the time for me to take a step back from here (for now, at least) and look somewhere else first.

That said I’m still around and not gone, at least until Chinese New Year (mid-feb) so don’t go running away yet!

Thank you for reading my ramble and again, I wish each and everyone of you a fantastic year of opportunities and growth ahead!

Happy 2015 and may this be a prosperous year for all!

P.s. A little late to mention but the surge in traffic here surprised me (after my instagram mention) and I hope the actual reveal isn’t as underwhelming. I’m not expecting again, nor am I relocating. A new job feels huge to me but maybe it’s not as huge as it sounds in the retrospect of life. Heh!

Rounding Up 2014 on Icyabstract!

Hello again!

As we count down to the new year, 2015, let’s have a look at the highlights and happenings of 2014!

In some ways, I’m really glad for this blog because it allows me to look back at different phases of my life as I continually pen down my thoughts through the day.

Albeit it is about makeup but each product and each entry triggers a thought and memory of the period when I was writing the entry and while my goldfish memory can’t recall well enough what I had experienced through the whole year, this recap is good enough for me to sum up some highlights in the beauty realm (on this space) and also bring to mind certain events and situations that were referenced.

Let’s have a look at the year of the horse (my year), 2014, shall we?

For the benefit of some, I have inserted ‘(➡︎)’ to indicate outgoing links because the link color difference isn’t very major with this current template of mine.

  • A little sad to say but I had a bit of a frustrating start to the year, and ranted about it (➡︎) but it all worked out along the way!
  • Another sponsorship for Baby and it’s pampers this time! I documented a couple of episodes (➡︎) of it and it’s nice to look back at how small and baby-ish she was then! She’s such a big girl now.
  • Discovered (because I was sent) a truly beautiful scent (➡︎) from L’Occitane that I’m glad to have in my stash. It has also piqued my interest for all things Neroli scented from here on.
  • Celebrated turning 24 (➡︎) with a spankin’ new gear (Olympus EM10!!) and of course lovely makeup pieces from my dear girls (Sophia, Mabel & Eliza!)
  • The move (➡︎) to this spankin’ new place. This is probably one of the best things I’ve done for my blog thus far, apart from the Olympus EM10 that is.
  • One of Lancôme’s biggest launch of the year (➡︎) – their swan-neck Grandiôse mascara that took the makeup world by storm with both the way it works and the way it looks.
  • Starting the K-Drama segment with this little post (➡︎) because I just needed an outlet to rant and ramble about what I’m currently obsessed with (watching).
  • The year I took really good care of my skin through loads of facial sessions. I think I got really lucky with this. I can’t link to just one but here’s the facial tag (➡︎) should you want to read more!
  • Allowed myself to be introduced to The Entertainer (➡︎) via an event and I will say, it’s one of my best money-saving (mainly where dining is concern) discoveries. Why was I not acquainted sooner!
  • Welcomed this amazing travel palette (➡︎) into my life and while at that point (of receiving it) I didn’t think much of it, I can imagine this being incredibly handy next year. You’ll know why next year, maybe ;)

Wrapping Up 2014, Hustlin’ & Bustlin’ in 2015

So, phew, 2014 was some year huh! I think it’s probably one of my busiest blogging year in terms of how frequent, or rather how good I’ve been (ha!), with keeping this little space of mine relevant.

Backlogs are still aplenty of course but I’m glad to have been able to ‘keep with the times’, somewhat, and be able to put up multiple looks for certain product releases. It’s something I don’t think I’ve ever done so religiously on my blog before and frankly, I loved doing it. All the look features, look books and such.

A combination of both moving to a better platform (WordPress) and having more efficient tools on hand (Olympus Em10) to be able to quickly and easily shoot up images for entries definitely helped with it!

That aside, I also want to thank each and every one of my readers who take time out of their schedules, days and offer a couple of minutes to pop by my site. It may feel like nothing to you but it means a whole lot to me to know that my words, or pictures, are of help and interest to you!

I’ve been trying to ‘let go’ and allow my blogging style to be more candid, goofy and hopefully more light-hearted and easy to read! I mean, I’ve always had this rambly-ness in me but I try to keep a ‘clean’ and objective tone about the blog just to keep ramblings to a minimal, and have it sound more polished I guess, but these days I’ve found that an injection of personality and some humour isn’t that bad too!

That’s just me and my preference for blogs I read these days at least and frankly it’s not too huge a difference from the way I used to write since I’ve been progressively allowing myself to ramble more since my ‘polished’ starting days. There was a time I felt like I was writing a press release with each entry given my neutral tone and how I strived to be brief and eloquent, but with the amount of bloggers emerging from the boom of social media these days, I guess it helps to differentiate yourself a little even if it shows how much of a dork you can be (or rather I can be, hurhur).

Okay, too much words. As much as rambling is fun I still try to prevent myself from writing a novel, where necessary.

I digress, but really I want to thank you all truly and sincerely because I’m well aware of how the social media realm has changed and is changing. Instagram is on the rise and in some aspects – like quick information dissemination – it replaces blogging. New personalities are also emerging from Instagram along with this style of keeping everything pretty and perfect – perfectly posed products, perfectly new items, flowers, pretty outfits, poses, shots etc.

In some respects it works but how much can a pretty picture tell you about how a blush would look on, or how an eyeshadow would work when paired with another hue? And in some examples of the, well, examples the actual showcase of makeup wearing is dubious and reason why these personalities never made it their practice to show products in the way we do. I believe there’s bound to be some fatigue from this trend and I don’t know about you but I’m starting to feel it. So while I do my share of posting product pictures, I try to accompany it with a follow up of how it looks or even a long-winded blog post about it.

It’s a whole new world out there now but like Sophia mentioned in her 2014 round up as well, we’ve been around before that trend arose and we’re just still here keeping it real and showcasing products as truly as we can – how they work and sharing our thoughts on how they feel as opposed to just posing them prettily accompanied with generic text so… I guess we’re (or at least I am) glad for people who still feel that blogging and the good-ole beauty sharing is the best resource and those who feel our mentions and entries are credible and chose to stick by our sites even after all these years! Not forgetting the new visitors, followers and readers who share the same mindset. Truly, a very big thank you given, as I had mentioned in 2013, the blogging society is fleeting and fickle so for us to still be present today in the blogging realm and to brands makes a credible claim on what we’ve been doing so far!

Grey Divider

I know I’m getting especially sappy (and long-winded) in this year’s round up but let’s just say there may be a period of disappearance next year (I’ll talk about it) and if anything I want you all to know that I appreciate each and every one of you, really I do. I’ve been blogging since 2008 and I have never regretted the amount of time I’ve put into it because I know I enjoyed every second!

I’m not religious but I genuinely feel blessed for everything I have experienced and received on this blogging journey of mine thus far. All the love and products from brands, friendships forged from fellow blogger pals or brand personnel and receiving encouraging comments or emails from you readers! It’s hard to describe and I never thought that blogging would end up meaning so much to me but it has and it always will.

Okay, too many feels, I’m going to sign off now! After a long and mushy post, I’d suggest to read some awesome travel rambling by Mabel in her annual round up!

Look out for the Hello 2015 post for more information on that cryptic life update I spoke of!

Have a great year everyone! Who’s off to countdown and who’s off to wake up to 2015 instead? Ha!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Here, Have A Festive Manicure!

I wanted to do a On My Nails post and then a separate HOLLA It’s Christmas! entry but figured, nevermind… I always end up rambling way too much in my nail entries (for no reason, really) so combining the two topics could be a way to remind myself to ramble less.

Try to, at least.

I don’t have this manicure on anymore, sadly, but that also means that I am able to report that while gorgeous the glitter here (as with all glitter in polishes) was quite a pain to remove.

Sigh, why must pretty glitter be such a pain.

I know there’s that whole soaking method to remove glitter but sadly it doesn’t work for my hyper sensitive skin. The last time I tried that, my skin felt like it was burning and got all red from irritation – not fun.

That’s probably why, despite how a glitter polish can lend such a lovely touch to a manicure, I avoid them like plaque because it’s just too much trouble to remove.

Though before I get to the glitter, let me show you how that rich red – Boss Lady, hurhur, cute name – looks on its own first.

I know I said I wasn’t going to ramble but given that this brand is new (to me and I assume to a good few of you lot), let me just talk about it a little.

I’ll keep it as brief as I can with some key details but if anyone is interested in finding out more about the brand I would most certainly do an overview / round up to come, once I get around to swatching up all the shades I had received.

I was provided with a nice selection of shades which I hope to get around to swatching and featuring but for now here’s the two pictured earlier.

I think overall I am quite pleased with the brand. I can’t say I love their polishes because there is a catch to them but the colors are nice and rich, opaque in one coat and the brush is functional.

It’s almost perfect except for the fact that it takes forever to dry. Like, forever.

I think we’ve all been spoilt with the glossy and quick-dry polishes of late that this is a little reminiscent of polishes before the gel era. Should I have discovered this brand about 3-4 years ago I think it would sit well with the bulk of nail polishes of that time.

Though these days with gel effect polishes that give you beautiful shine, a flawless finish along with an incredibly quick dry time so you can get back to your chores asap, this one just feels a tiny bit lacking.

That, and the fact that this polish doesn’t last a very long time which was why I didn’t manage to wear it till the Christmas period. About a week into wear it start chipping very obviously at the tips and I had no choice but to remove it and move on.

It’s these little itty bitty bits that is turning me off from swatching the rest of the shades but in its own fairness the color selections are rather pretty.

I have a gorgeous deep teal that I’m curious to try. Perhaps this time I’ll pair it with that Sephora quick dry oil that I have and hopefully that will make the process of enjoying these polishes a little better.

I’ll report back again! Though in the meanwhile if you’re curious to find out more from Madam Glam for yourself, you can hop by their website and give it a look!

p.s. they’re having a 40% now if you’re willing to take a chance and haul first, decide later.

Alrightey, I’m sorry for this entry becoming such a ramble even though I tried not to.

I didn’t want to just upload a Christmas greeting alone so hopefully pairing it with a manicure made it a little more worth your time to read through.

I hope that everyone is having a blast this Christmas be it if you celebrate it religiously or just enjoy the commercial aspect of it, the get-togethers and the gift exchanges.

Regardless which angle of Christmas you enjoy, as long as it’s spent sharing laughs with people you love, it’s a joyous celebration no less.

Merry Christmas everyone! <3

I’ll see you guys again once the Christmas festivities is over!

It’s Baby Sitting Time! Or Week, Whichever…

I wasn’t going to bother with an announcement post because I’ve left enough posts running along during my absence that you probably wouldn’t notice anyway… ha!

Though I guess my need to ramble and talk about absolutely nothing important at all got the best of me so here I am saying, tata my little blog space! Be good, listen to the scheduled timer and put things up on time and all’s well, alright?

I guess it does help that after shifting to WordPress there is a really handy and easy to use mobile app to help me keep track of whatever is going on on here, on my phone, so if somehow anything misbehaves I still am able to check in real quick.

I doubt anyone is interested to know, but yes hubs and I are spending a full week at home since our in-laws are away on vacation (something I totally need) and I would hardly call this ‘break’ of ours a vacation because we know how our little monster can be such a handful but it’s still nice, I guess to plan some activities that we would like to cover during this period of leave and home-boundness.

“who are you callin’ little monster!”

We’re thinking of some water activities, beach activities, indoor playground fun again seeing as she enjoys that and of course just regular ole family bonding.

We had a thought to do a staycation but that thought came really late so booking is near impossible (I’m sure vacancies are close to none) and it’ll be super costly booking at such short notice so, nevermind. We’ll be more organized about it the next time.

But alrighty, enough rambling, you get the point.

All should be good to be well, my fellow readers! You’ll still hear from me all week long, if you aren’t sick of me already and if anything you can catch more real time updates from me over at my instagram – that’s provided if I’m able to get a hold of my phone during the day!

That pretty much sums it up. Till I’m back, toodles!

The Upcoming Low Down – On The Blog & With My Life!

Okay, so here’s the deal and what’s up and coming on this little space of mine.

I feel that this entry is redundant but yet it’s one of those little pep talk sessions where you sit around with your team and you go through the tasks, timetable, etc to brief everyone of their task and at the same time it’s also for you to have another run down (mentally and verbally) of the matters on hand and ensure that they get tackled and completed.

While nothing is expected of you guys of course, except to check back if you’re interested in the content to come, this serves as a little summary and reminder to myself on what to put up before I vanish for a week (I’ll touch on that in a bit).

It’s not a complete disaparation where I disappear into the black hole and you hear nothing from me for a week sort of a vanish but it will be tough to get my hands on technology and that includes my phone.

So, anyway, I’ll get to it but let’s read on!

So anyway, after that long and unneeded introduction for this already rather unnecessary post I thought I would give you an idea of what to expect next week and also the week after.

Given that Naked On the Run (a palette I’m pretty psyched about myself) is launching on the 5th of December, that’s next Friday for you, I’ll be doing the whole ‘dedicating the week to this product’ sort of a deal for it.

So next week it’s all about being Naked and being On the Run!

You know, because it’s what most people are looking out for, amirite?

If you haven’t already heard, there are great gifts up for grabs for those who are first (few) in line to get their hands on the Naked On the Run palette so head here to be well acquainted with that before checking back next week for the low-down (and looks).

After which I’ll be giving the MAC Holiday collection a well deserved mention because it seems like a lot of people are intrigued in that. My MAC Overview post in itself garnered a lot of views and likes when it went live and I didn’t even bother with a shoutout on instagram for that one.

So yes, serving the folks, I’ll put up in depth entries of each products and those entries are likely to be pre-drafted and scheduled because the week after, I’m actually going to be home-bound since my inlaws are traveling and it’s turn for me and hubs to babysit Baby K.

Though this time it’s going to be a little trickier and tougher because in the past we’ll simply bunk over at my parents place but this time, within this duration, the parents are facing some reno works in their area so we decided against a staycation at their place.

Instead, hubs and I are going to wing it. Us, alone with baby. Let’s see how this works out alright?

Yes we are grown adults but in some ways we have been nicely pampered where meals, laundry and whatnot are concerned so… this will truly be a simulation on how life is going to be once we move on, in future – if ever.

Which is why, as mentioned above, it’ll be trickier for some me-time and just be on my computer or phone because if hubs isn’t watching baby, I’ll be.

Plus she’s quite a torpedo when it comes to grabbing things she should not and going places she should not. So yeah…

We’ll see how it goes but as mentioned I’ll schedule stuff on here so it’s not radio silence but I can’t speak for sure about my social platforms since I doubt I’ll even have proper content to post apart from – baby’s porridge of the day, my PJs ootd today, etc.

But anyway,  I’m rambling far too much over this so, yeah, I hope this gives you an idea of what to expect and hopefully these are things you are interested to read up about!

I anticipate any looks with MAC products to come in the next next next week since there are a few products to go through and, as convenient as it’ll be, I don’t want to spam up you guys too much with a post everyday (plus that’s a heck load to go through and schedule).

We’ll see how it goes but regardless, no matter how busy I get (next week at work or next next with baby) I’m going to make it seem like I was never gone. Muaha~

Thanks for reading this pointless post but hey, good pep talk right? ;)

Happy Birthday My Man!

Okay, it’s embarrassing doing an entry like this… like what am I now, talking about my life on here?

Heh, but I just figured a shoutout wouldn’t hurt, not that he really cares either because he doesn’t read my blog – why would he – so this is just for my own benefit really. Whatever sort of a benefit that may be.

So, I guess I never was the sort to write too much about my life outside of the blog. There are snippets and mentions of baby and hubs but nothing in detail really and any aspect of my life I divulge is always in co-relation to the blog.

Things like, I’m temporarily staying at my parents place so maybe the background is different, maybe entries are lessened, things like that.

Anyone remember those photobombs from years back? Yeap, he’s still at it…

I hardly talk about my life outside of the blog, I guess it’s because I always feel a little awkward about it – sharing, over sharing?

Plus the fact that everyone being so used to social media and social sharing doesn’t make it any less dangerous! You’re putting your life and information on the web for the whole wide world to see, y’anno?

But anyway, a little birthday shoutout could hurt noone, so here’s one.

Thank you Hubs for all you’ve done and supporting my blogging hobby though deep down inside I know you feel it’s a waste of time (and space, with my boxes of products piling up in your study).

I’m thankful I have a hubs that is, in some ways, vain so we get to share that aspect of skin maintenance together and he’s always open to me trying new products on him, masking or even doing facial / massage sessions with him!

The frivolous aside, he is constantly growing and bettering himself at being a dad, learning to handle Baby K even better than I do these days and it makes me happy to see the amount of effort he’s putting into the family.

So much so, that at this point of time while it’s still too personal to really say for sure we are thinking of a Number 2, so people can stop asking.

We are thinking but we’re still preparing ourselves mentally and I guess that includes Baby K too. We’ve seen her interact with a fresh new baby cousin and I think it’s proof enough that she’s ready to be an elder sister – she’s so helpful and loving. Though her intentions are there her methods could use more refining, ha!

Though anyway, this entry has gone awfully off topic with the main point of it, just to wish my man (whom you’ve seen some cameo appearances on my blog and instagram in the past) a very very Happy Birthday!

Thank you for always being so awesome and fun!

Happy Birthday Hubs,
may you always be young at heart!

And thank for reading this extremely off topic post, if you have.

Take it as a bit of a ramble, to maybe talk that mental clog out. I seem to have this issue these days where perhaps I expect too much of myself and when entries just aren’t at that optimum fluidity I start to get frustrated when in truth it’s still not too bad an entry if I write with this mild clog. I guess I’m also a little confused on how I should establish myself. I’ve been toggling between fairly proper and summed up and of late, a little crazy and off-topic which I seem to be enjoying these days.

Though tell me, what do you think?

Is simple and straightforward (head in the for the kill kind of entries) better for you, or do you like the personality and humor ones more?

I guess I’m fine either ways, just as long as I get my mojo back… What is up with you, fleeting word-inspiration.

Okay, forreal, I’ll go now, bye!
