The Upcoming Low Down – On The Blog & With My Life!

Okay, so here’s the deal and what’s up and coming on this little space of mine.

I feel that this entry is redundant but yet it’s one of those little pep talk sessions where you sit around with your team and you go through the tasks, timetable, etc to brief everyone of their task and at the same time it’s also for you to have another run down (mentally and verbally) of the matters on hand and ensure that they get tackled and completed.

While nothing is expected of you guys of course, except to check back if you’re interested in the content to come, this serves as a little summary and reminder to myself on what to put up before I vanish for a week (I’ll touch on that in a bit).

It’s not a complete disaparation where I disappear into the black hole and you hear nothing from me for a week sort of a vanish but it will be tough to get my hands on technology and that includes my phone.

So, anyway, I’ll get to it but let’s read on!

So anyway, after that long and unneeded introduction for this already rather unnecessary post I thought I would give you an idea of what to expect next week and also the week after.

Given that Naked On the Run (a palette I’m pretty psyched about myself) is launching on the 5th of December, that’s next Friday for you, I’ll be doing the whole ‘dedicating the week to this product’ sort of a deal for it.

So next week it’s all about being Naked and being On the Run!

You know, because it’s what most people are looking out for, amirite?

If you haven’t already heard, there are great gifts up for grabs for those who are first (few) in line to get their hands on the Naked On the Run palette so head here to be well acquainted with that before checking back next week for the low-down (and looks).

After which I’ll be giving the MAC Holiday collection a well deserved mention because it seems like a lot of people are intrigued in that. My MAC Overview post in itself garnered a lot of views and likes when it went live and I didn’t even bother with a shoutout on instagram for that one.

So yes, serving the folks, I’ll put up in depth entries of each products and those entries are likely to be pre-drafted and scheduled because the week after, I’m actually going to be home-bound since my inlaws are traveling and it’s turn for me and hubs to babysit Baby K.

Though this time it’s going to be a little trickier and tougher because in the past we’ll simply bunk over at my parents place but this time, within this duration, the parents are facing some reno works in their area so we decided against a staycation at their place.

Instead, hubs and I are going to wing it. Us, alone with baby. Let’s see how this works out alright?

Yes we are grown adults but in some ways we have been nicely pampered where meals, laundry and whatnot are concerned so… this will truly be a simulation on how life is going to be once we move on, in future – if ever.

Which is why, as mentioned above, it’ll be trickier for some me-time and just be on my computer or phone because if hubs isn’t watching baby, I’ll be.

Plus she’s quite a torpedo when it comes to grabbing things she should not and going places she should not. So yeah…

We’ll see how it goes but as mentioned I’ll schedule stuff on here so it’s not radio silence but I can’t speak for sure about my social platforms since I doubt I’ll even have proper content to post apart from – baby’s porridge of the day, my PJs ootd today, etc.

But anyway,  I’m rambling far too much over this so, yeah, I hope this gives you an idea of what to expect and hopefully these are things you are interested to read up about!

I anticipate any looks with MAC products to come in the next next next week since there are a few products to go through and, as convenient as it’ll be, I don’t want to spam up you guys too much with a post everyday (plus that’s a heck load to go through and schedule).

We’ll see how it goes but regardless, no matter how busy I get (next week at work or next next with baby) I’m going to make it seem like I was never gone. Muaha~

Thanks for reading this pointless post but hey, good pep talk right? ;)

It’s Almost Friday, Finally!

I know, I know, I don’t normally post my little girl on here for my own set of privacy reasons though at the same time as she’s growing up to be such a cheery ball of sunshine, I can’t help but share her smiles and absolutely adorable moments.

At least I’m not constantly spamming pictures of her and only chose the ‘key’ moments to share.

Case in point, these pictures right here because I love them too much not to share. I love both the little cheeky model in it and also the equipment I used to shoot this – my Olympus EM10 + Olympus 45mm lens.

As seen in this old instagram picture of mine

This combo is my current go-to when shooting portraiture (or even toy shots at that) because of how perfect the effect is.

I’m really glad I went over to the OMD side of things during my camera hunt earlier this year and I even went a step further to acquire the Olympus 45mm lens.

I like cameras and have an interest in the bits and bobs but I was never one to amass an army of interchangeable lenses etc. Though now I can’t quite say the same… I seem to be mildly addicted to this lens-changing-for-situations sort of, well, situation.

Anyway, back to this.

I’m sharing some of my favorite shots from the bunch and that brings us back to the sentiment of how I wish it was the weekends already so we can spend more time with this ball of sunshine and have more ‘shoots’!

Little tods are only this small, squishy and fun-sized for so long so we’re going to capture as much of these moments as we can!

(pictures are kinda SOOC – only cropping and resizing was done, no color editing)

Cheeky shy laugh!

And one of my favorites because of how comical it is – there’s hubs and then there’s the girl confused on whether she should be cute or not (hence the cute ‘pose’ yet deadpan expression).

Grey Divider

So, phew!

This was a good break from the ‘usual schedule’ for me to sort out what I would like to say in posts to come.

I’ve got some Shupette mentions and some Surratt mentions coming up and I can’t decide which one to pop on first – Shupette because it is Limited Edition, or Surratt just because I’m just way too excited to share about (plus Troy Surratt is popping by our shores this weekend)?

Tsk, decisions decisions…. Though I think I’m going to do the ‘sensible’ thing and mention Shupette first, since it’s Limited Edition and all the hype right now, yes? That’s hoping it is still the hype after my belated-yet-to-come entry… that is!

Info, pics, swatches and looks about’em all coming up over the next week! :)

For now, I think I may want to put up a nail mention tomorrow, so that’s coming up!

I anticipate a bit of a ‘break’ / hustle over to my parents place sometime in December so I haven’t decided if I’m going to be scheduling posts up for that period or take a break but… I guess you could expect some entries along the theme of ‘being away from home for a bit’.

Though not as big a scale as my temporary move earlier this year, of course.

Thanks for reading! What’s your favorite / currently using camera at the moment?

A Blog Update – It’s An Icon Thing!

So… I recently discovered a little thing to this Theme that I am using here on WordPress. Based on the ‘Format’ that I select, which oddly enough doesn’t seem to have an effect on the actual format of the post, the little icons atop the entry will change!

Now it’s very frivolous and largely visual but I was thinking that it could serve as a good visual cue to segment my posts. That is if you are viewing my blog from the web because the mobile (and blog reader) versions are displayed without that icon.

For the most of you who are popping by my site from mobile, blog readers or those who never took much notice to the post ‘headers’, here’s what I am talking about!

So frankly… I don’t have any idea why I am discussing this revelation on here because I don’t intend to start tagging every single post in detail (less I forget which one belongs to what myself) but it is a nice option and thought to be able to.

For now, I have only dedicated one other symbol to another purpose that being the ‘speaker’ for Giveaways and Promotions.

In a way, even though I know it’s a volume icon, it looks like some loud hailer of sorts so… I guess that works? Plus it stands out being grey, amidst the usual black headers.

Incase you’re wondering, the one right at the top (darkest black) is the usual design for ‘standard’ posts, which is almost all my posts.

Though these little things are inspiring me a little to start posting more random snippets. Would you all like quick sneaky shots, like previews maybe, of upcoming posts before I actually post about it with fullout information, rambles and all?

For example if I were talking about a palette, I would spam palette pictures and swatches first and then tag that to the Camera icon under a ‘Sneak Peak’ sort of title? And then a proper Review post to come where I discuss the palette, textures and all?

I guess that’s most ideal for those who are here for the images more than my rambles.

I don’t know what to do with these yet but… I guess it’s nice having that little toggling option and I’m loving this theme a little more (than I already am) now. If anyone has any cool suggestions, feel free to let me know! :)

Restarting my 2014 (A random personal ramble)

All words, no pictures – okay cool? Let’s go…

Hello you guys (by that I mean you ladies)!

Wanted to post a casual ramble to let off some steam and rant? Well about nothing in particular but I wanted to just type words and not have to list down product information, texture description and key information in the process. Basically I just want to blog a little ambiguous life update.

So 2014 has been nothing but chaotic and blah this far. I certainly didn’t start it on a very good note.

There were some highlights – Angelica workshop (scary but fun!), meet up with pals amongst other things but my general mood has been so down in the dumps and everything going on around me just isn’t helping. I refuse to believe or read too much into things like The Secret but at moments like this, I can’t help but feel there’s a little truth in it – negativity breeds more negativity.

So maybe this post is like a reset to myself, let me shake all that madness away and start 2014 anew once again! At good time too since I had just successfully wrapped up a major work event (which contributed to the stress). There’s one more on the way but at least dealing with one is better than the thought of two!

Okay this post is getting really pointless for my blog but I guess what I’m trying to say is I haven’t been on here much because I’ve been swamped and also wallowing in my own misery for a bit, I’m only human! But no more – chin up and ready to take on the world.

Not sure where the random bout of moodiness came from because I’m not feeling that sore about getting a year older. Or perhaps subconsciously I am and I refuse to admit it which caused a whole snowball of emotions.

Though now I’m done rambling / ranting so I shall attempt to push all negativity away be it people, situation or even myself.

In 2014 I aim to be more gracious with my emotions, be the bigger person and be more forgiving about things. Majority of this sounds bizarre cause I appear so happy and carefree on here but in person I can be very demanding (esp work-wise, I expect a lot of people) and I seem to live life on a fast forward button, no time to smell the roses despite what it may seem or what I may portray online.

While I’m not going to hit slow-mo, I will attempt to take a walk in the park when I can, take things slow, calm and of course aim to be a better version of myself.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks for reading this random-ness, do you have any personal goals and state of mind for yourself in 2014?

On a happier note, I’ve got loads of lovelies to share once I climb out of this emotional rut and get my blogging mojo back. Hold out for me! :)
